Dinner for “International Higher Education Mobility and Turkey’s Situation”,
The meeting was opened with DEIK / Higher Education Business Council Chairman (EEİK) Dr. Mustafa Aydın’s opening speech. It was stated by Education Economy Business council, the most wide platform established in higher education in Turkey that to rise Turkey’s power of competition in international area and to make Turkey one of attraction center for international students in global platform were the goals of international Higher Education Business Council. It was also mentioned that there were 117 million student in the World and 2.3% studied in a different country.
Emphasizing the income obtained from one international student studying in a different country, Turkey’s incompetence to have a bigger slice from 3.7 million international student cake was also discussed. Although Turkey’s universities are equipped better in terms of technic and academic issues than its rivals, this situation cannot be solved. This can be result of insufficient advertising and promotion. Also, the experiences over the leader countries were shared in terms of Turkey’s rank in international higher education platform. In the presentation, EEIK explained their expectations from public institutions and National Education Ministry and Higher Education Board.
Moreover, it was said to be very important to work in coordination with Non-governmental organizations and public institutions to realise the goals of one hundred and thousand student and to establish a publicity agent like USA, England and Germany.
The Rectors and Presidents of Universities, Members of Executive Board of Higher Education Council and business man investing in Africa participated in the meeting.
Member of Executive Board of Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şişman defined that the studies for internationalization must be maintained under a synergy. Within this frame, Caucasian Universities Union, DEIK/EEIK, Yunus Emre Institutions must work in cooperation and of great importance. Also universities take great responsibility.
In the last opening speech made by Executive board Member of Higher Education Council Prof. Dr. Tufan Buzpınar, it was said that nearly 250 universities must be established to meet the needs and there must be a rapid grow and not only Higher Education Council but also the other public institutions must take responsibility.

Aynı zamanda Türkiye’nin en geniş yükseköğretim sektörü platformu olan DEİK Eğitim Ekonomisi İş Konseyi Başkanı olan Dr. Aydın, Sait Gürsoy’a Türk üniversitelerinin geldiği nokta ve uluslararası öğrenci temini çalışmalarını anlattı.
IAU President Dr. Mustafa Aydın and Sabah columnist Sait Gürsoy gathered in IAU Florya Campus and talked about the actual situation and the future of higher education sector in Turkey.
Dr. Aydın, also heading DEİK Education Economy Business Council, gave detailed information concerning actual position of Turkish universities and foreign student recruitment activities in Turkey.
Gürsoy mentioned that he was impressed by İstanbul Aydın University Florya Campus, especially for its strong technical structure and equipage adding that he believes İstanbul Aydın University will get many other bigger national and international successes with their perpetual pursuit for quality supporting their wide vision in all areas.
