DEİK’te çok ciddi bir altyapının oluştuğunu anlatan Vardan, “Zaten mevcut eskiden gelmiş bir tecrübe vardı. Onu biraz daha güçlendirerek, çok etkin çalışmalar yapar halen geldik. Hızlı hareket ediyoruz. Kurucu kuruluşlarımızın temsilcileri ile beraber çalışmaları sürdürüyoruz. Bizim gidemediğimiz yerlere, toplantılara, onlar DEİK adına gidiyorlar. Tüm özel sektörün, dış ekonomik ilişkilerini yürüten bir kurum olarak elimizden geldiği kadar hem yurtdışına heyet götürmek, hem de yurtdışından gelen heyetleri ağırlamak, iş forumları düzenlemek, insanları bir araya getirerek iş imkânları oluşturmak gibi çalışmalara yardımcı oluyoruz” dedi.
Yeni dönemde geçen süre içerisinde farklı bir misyon üstlendiklerini ifade eden Vardan, bir değişim sağladıklarını belirtti. Vardan, sözlerine şöyle devam etti: “DEİK’in şu anki yapısına baktığımız zaman Rahmetli Turgut Özal’ın 1986’da kurdurduğu zamanki havaya dönmüş olduğunu görüyoruz. Yani tüm özel sektörün dış ekonomik ilişkilerini yürüten kurum haline geldi. Bu çerçevede, nasıl bunu gerçekleştirebilirsiniz? Tüm organizasyonuyla o altyapınız içinde bulunan kişi ve kurumların ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilecek hale gelirseniz bunu yapabilirsiniz. Geçen süre içerisinde bunu yapabildiğimizi düşünüyoruz. Hem kadromuzu güçlendirdik, hem de hükümetin bu noktada ciddi destekleri oldu. Sonuçta, biz tüm bu organizasyonları birlikte yürüterek, özellikle Türkiye’nin dışarıdaki imajını tek sesli hale getirdik. Baktığınız zaman DEİK, yurtdışına gidecek veya yurtdışından gelecek tüm dış ilişkiler buradan geçtiği zaman burası bir referans noktası oldu. Tam yerine oturdu. Önümüzdeki günlerde iş konseylerinin yapılarını değiştirerek daha da hareketlendirerek, gerekirse sayılarını artırarak gidemediğimiz ve ulaşamadığımız yerlere de ulaşma imkanını halledeceğiz.”
Genel kurul yıl sonunda yapılacak
Görev sürelerinin 2015’in sonuna kadar olan genel kurula kadar süreceğini söyleyen Vardan, “Bu genel kurula kadar bütün altyapıyı tamamlamış, DEİK’i arzu edilen seviyede çalışan bir kurum haline getirmiş olacağız. Ondan sonraki seçimlerde de 4 yıllığına DEİK’in yönetimi seçilmiş olacak. Yeni seçilecek arkadaşlarımız da kaldığı noktadan devam edecekler” diye konuştu.
DEIK Restructuring Workshop
DEIK president of Economics of Education Business Council Dr. Mustafa Aydin participated at DEIK restructuring workshop. DEIK chairman Omer Cihad Vardan said that after the restructuring DEIK experienced an exciting atmosphere of the Turgut Ozal era.
After DEIK was transferred to the Department of Economics in September of last year it became the only representative of the private sector in export. DEIK organized numerous events and continuous with its hard work. Omer Cihad Vardan, chairman of both DEIK and Economic Development Foundation interviewed with daily newspaper DUNYA.
Mentioned the serious background of DEIK Vardan said, “We already had the experience of the past. We strengthen our background and became effective in doing active works. We move fast. We work together with the representatives of our founding corporations. They participate at the meetings on behalf of DEIK. We do our best for the private sector as a foundation, who deals with foreign economic relations, in terms of sending committee abroad and hosting committees from other countries, organizing business forums, bringing people together and creating business opportunities.”
Noted that DEIK undertook a different mission during the new phase, Vardan said that it created a change and continued, “DEIK has brought back the atmosphere once created in 1986 by Turgut Ozal meaning that it became a body to perform all activities of private sector’s foreign economic relations. How can you do such a thing within this framework? If you become answer the needs of all the persons and corporations with its entire organization. We believe we have done that during this period. We strengthen our workforce and received enormous support from the current government. We have done all these organizations at the same time and change the image of Turkey abroad. DEIK became a referance point to direct all foreign relations in sending and hosting committees. During the coming days we will change the organization structure of the business councils and bring excitement and increase the number of the councils and be able to reach the destinations once we weren’t able to.
General Assembly to take place at the end of the year
Mentioned that they’ll be in Office until the end of the year 2015, Vardan said “ Until the general assembly we will be able to complete the background and bring DEIK to function at desired level. After the elections DEIK’s board will be selected for a four-year term. Newly elected colleagues will continue with the mission where they take it from.
