Türk Denizcilik ve Global Stratejiler Merkezi (Türk DEGS) Başkanı Doç. Dr. Cihat Yaycı’nın konuk olduğu “Doğu Akdeniz’in Geleceği ve Türkiye” konulu toplantı, İAÜ Batı Platformu tarafından gerçekleştirildi. Toplantının moderatörlüğünü ise İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Ragıp Kutay Karaca üstlendi.
İAÜ Batı Platformu’nun bu uluslararası etkinliğine İAÜ Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, İAÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. Yadigâr İzmirli, rektör yardımcıları ve ilgili alanlardan birçok öğretim üyesi katıldı. Toplantıda “Mavi Vatan”a ilişkin bir sunum yapan Türk DEGS Başkanı Doç. Dr. Cihat Yaycı, konuşmasının ardından katılımcılardan gelen soruları yanıtladı.
Toplantı sonunda, İAÜ Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Doç. Dr. Mustafa Aydın ise Akdeniz’in siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik boyuttaki önemine değindi ve bölgenin sahip olduğu değerleri korumak, gelecekte ne tür gelişmelerin ortaya çıkabileceğinin öngörüsünü sunmak ve Türkiye’nin bu konudaki etkisini ifade etmek amacıyla paylaşılan tüm görüşlerin son derece kıymetli olduğunu vurguladı.
THE MEETING ON “THE FUTURE OF THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN AND TURKEY” ORGANIZED BY THE IAU WESTERN PLATFORM
Organizing by IAU Western Platform, “The Future of the Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey” themed seminar held with participation of President of the Turkish Maritime and Global Strategies Center Assoc. Prof. Cihat Yaycı. Istanbul Aydın University, Department of Political Science and International Relations, Lecturer Prof. Dr. Ragıp Kutay Karaca moderated the meeting.
In addition, President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Rector Prof. Dr. Yadigar İzmirli, vice rectors and academic members from related departments attended to the meeting. Turkish Maritime and Global Strategies Center Assoc. Prof. Cihat Yaycı who made a presentation about “Blue Homeland” answered the questions from participants after his speech.
At the end of the meeting, President Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın mentioned political, social and economic importance of the Mediterranean and he emphasized that it is extremely important that protecting the values of the region, having foresight what kind of developments may occur in the future and all views about Turkey’s influence on this issue.
