Lisans Yerleştirme Sınavları (LYS) bu hafta sona erecek. Puanların açıklanmasıyla adaylar için tercih maratonu başlayacak. İyi bir kariyer sahibi olmak için üniversite adaylarına önemli tavsiyelerde bulunan İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı Mustafa Aydın insanların yaşam kalitesini yükselten mesleklerin her dönemde revaçta olacağını söyledi. Aydın “”Gıda, sağlık, eğitim ve teknoloji alanlarındaki meslekler asla ölmez. Bunlar günün şartlarına göre hep ön planda olacak meslekler. İnsanlar yaşamak için önce doğru beslenecek. Beslenmeyle ilgili alışkanlıklar değişti. Organik ve GDO’suz gıdalar talep görüyor. Bu nedenle gıdayla ilgili her bölüm revaçta olacak. Öte yandan daha uzun yaşamak için hastalandığında tedavi görecek. İnsanlar bu konuda artık daha bilinçli. Dolayısıyla sağlık hizmetlerine de her zaman ihtiyaç duyulacak. Eğitim bilimleri için de aynı şey söz konusu. İnsan hayatını kolaylaştıran bilimlerle ilgili mesleklere de hep talep olacak. Teknoloji, elektronik, makine bunlardan bazıları”” diye konuştu.

30 yıllık bir eğitimci olan Aydın, doğru meslek seçimi için adaylara şu önerilerde bulundu:
MODA MESLEK SEÇMEYİN:
Sırf kulağa hoş geliyor, beni entelektüel gösteriyor diyerek geleceği olmayan bir meslek seçmeyin. ben bunlara “”moda”” meslekler diyorum. Toplumdaki arz-talep dengesini iyi değerlendirin
MADDİ GİRDİSİNE BAKIN:
Mesleğinizin kazancı hem size hem de bakmakla yükümlü olduğunuz kişilere yetmelidir. Bugün Türkiye’de üniversite mezunlarının yüzde 32’si kendi işini yapmıyor. Çünkü o mesleği icra eden çok kişi var. Talep yok.
UNVANA DİKKAT:
Hayatınız boyunca taşıyabileceğiniz bir meslek seçin. Hiçbir ortamda söylemekten çekinmeyeceğiniz bir meslek edinin.
SEVECEĞİNİZ MESLEK:
Bu kriteri genellikle psikologlar birinci sırada gösterir. Ben son kriter diyorum. Çünkü diğer 3 kriteri yerine getirmiyorsa mesleğinizi zaten sevemezsiniz.
KAMPÜSLERİ GEZİN:
Üşenmeyin, ilgilendiğiniz üniversitelerin kampüslerini mutlaka gezin. Okul gerçekten vaat ettiklerini verebiliyor mu? Gidin yerinde görüp karar verin.
TEKNOLOJİK HAMAL YETİŞTİRİYORUZ
Türkiye’deki genç nüfus oranının yüksekliğine dikkat çeken Aydın “”Bununla övünüyoruz ama dünya insanı yetiştiremiyoruz. Beyin ihracı yapmamız lazım. Teknolojik hamal yetiştirmeyelim. Gençlerimiz Avrupa’da fabrika işçisi değil, teknoloji üreten beyinler olmalı. Tekstilde de dünyanın hamallığını yapıyoruz. Deri İtalya’ya bizden gidiyor. Ayakkabı onlardan çıkıyor. Dünyanın ihtiyaçlarını göz önünde bulundurarak eğitim vermeliyiz”” dedi.
Istanbul Aydın University President of the Board of Trustees Dr. Mustafa Aydın suggested students to choose food, health, education and techonology sectors for their college study as he mentioned that those occupations will be in demand for a long time.
Undergraduation Replacement Test (LYS) will end this week. Grades will be announced and candidates will start chosing the subjects they want to study. Suggesting college candidates with important advice to have a good career, Istanbul Aydın University President of the Board of Trustees Mustafa Aydın said that occupations that improve the quality of life have always been popular. “Food, health, education, and technology sectors will always be around. They will always be important based on the circumstances at the time. In order to live people need to eat. Eating habits have changed. There is a huge demand for organic and non-GMO food. So any study related to food will be popular and in demand. In order to live longer people need to be treated during their sickness. People are aware of this. Therefore, healthcare services will be in demand as well. Same thing applies to educational sciences. There will always be demand for sciences that make people’s life easier. Technology, electronics and machinery just to name a few.”
EARN FIRST LOVE LATER
Dr. Mustafa Aydın, a thirty year educator, suggested the candidates for a right choice as follows:
DO NOT CHOOSE SOMETHING THAT IS POPULAR
Just because something sounds nice and will make you look intellectual, do not choose something with no future. I call them ‘fashion’ occupations. Do evaluate supply-demand balance in society efficiently.
YOU NEED TO CONSIDER THE SALARY OFFERED
The salary you will earn need to be enough for you and your dependents. Today, in Turkey, 32% of college graduates do not have jobs related to their studies. Because there is a huge supply with no demand in their fields.
BE AWARE OF THE TITLE YOU WILL HOLD
You need to choose an occupation that you will keep for a life time. Choose something you will proudly mention it to others.
AN OCCUPATION YOU WILL LOVE
This is a criterion psychologist mention the most, but it is the last on my list. Because if the other three criteria are not satisfied you will never be happy with your job.
VISIT CAMPUSES
You must visit campuses of universities in which you are interested. Does the school give what it offers? You need to go and see it yourself.
WE ARE RAISING SLAVES OF TECHNOLOGY
Emphasized Turkey’s large youth population Dr. Aydın said, “ We are prouf of this fact yet we do not raise world citizens. We need to export our intelligence. We should not raise slaves of technology. Our youth should not be working in factories in Europe they should rather innovate and produce technology. It is the same thing with textile business; we are doing the hard work of the world textile business. Our leather is exported to Italy but they produce the world famous shoes. We need to educate our young people based on the needs of the world.”
