Sempozyumda konuşmacı olarak yer alan İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi Mütevelli Heyet Başkanı ve Avrasya Üniversiteler Birliği Başkanı Dr. Mustafa Aydın, “Türkiye’nin ekonomik, kültürel, tarihi ve coğrafi olarak dünyanın merkezinde olduğunu görüyoruz. Bunun için bazı sorumluluklar üstlenmek zorundayız. Avrupa, kendi güvenliği ve huzuru açısından Türkiye’nin bu coğrafyadaki yerinin farkında ancak farkında değilmiş gibi davranıyor. Türkiye’nin güvenlik bölgesi talebine olumsuz yaklaşan Avrupa, Suriye’ye komşu olsaydı nasıl bir tutum sergilerdi? Davulun sesi uzaktan hoş geliyor. Türkiye, bu coğrafyadaki ülkelerle hem tarihi, hem siyasi, hem de değerleri bakımından ortaklık kuran tek ülke. Bu sebeple etrafındaki bütün olayları, olumsuzlukları absorbe etmek durumunda kalıyor. Yani amortisör görevi yapıyor. AGİT’in kurucu üyesi Türkiye, Avrupa’nın güvenliğine sigorta olurken, nedense Avrupa ile entegrasyona gelince dışlanıyor. Oysa güçlü bir Türkiye, Avrupa’nın tek güvencesidir” ifadelerinde bulundu
“Turkey’s role in Europe’s safety”
The “Turkey’s role in Europe’s safety” symposium took place with the partnership of Istanbul Aydin University and The Eurasian Universities Union.
In the symposium which took place under the partnership of IAU and EURAS; European Security and Partnership Agency (AGIT) experts, Eurasian Universities Union teachers and government officials attended. The symposium attracted much attention from the STKs also.
Prime Ministry Public Safety Agency ex-president Doc. Dr. Ulvi Saran gave the opening speech. Saran, “I would like to say that within the effects of wars in the past couple of years, it is felt and known that global terrorism has become an issue. This is why Turkey plays a key role in European safety and will continue to play this role.” Doc. Dr. Saran continued his speech with, “Turkey is situated in the most problematic region in the world and even though Turkey has been going through terror issues in the past 30 years within its boundaries but Turkey is the only country that has been able to go through the issue. Due to this, Turkey’s experience and partnership is key to Europe’s safety.”
IAU President Dr. Mustafa Aydin took place as a speaker in the symposium. Aydin, “We see that Turkey is in the center of the globe culturally, economically, historically and geographically. This is why we must be responsible and careful in many issues. Europe is aware of Turkey’s role and location for its own safety and peace however Europe acts as if they don’t know. Europe, who is against Turkey being a safety region, should think how they would act if they were neighboring Syria. The sound of drums is pretty from far away. Turkey is the only country in this region that has made a partnership with its historical, political and values. This is the reason why Turkey has to absorb all the negativity from its neighbors. Turkey acts as a bumper. AGIT’s founding member, Turkey, is insurance in the safety of Europe. However when it comes to integration with Europe, Turkey is always the odd one out. Against all, strong Turkey is Europe’s only safety.”
